My Yoga Therapy sessions are offered to those who wish to heal and deepen their yoga practice and studies. Together we design a personalized yoga sadhana (practice) that is tailored to your needs and interests. The focus will be on physical and emotional healing and spiritual development through classic Hatha Yoga and Kundalini Tantra traditions.
The practice we design will be guided by the Eight Limbs of Yoga. The foundation here will be understanding and bringing into alignment a lifestyle that is harmonious with the yama (ethics) and niyama (discipline). We will work extensively through the study and practice of asana (physical postures), prāṇāyāma (breath control), pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dhāraṇā (concentration practices), and dhyāna (meditation). We will review in depth the chakra system, and how these energy centers have both a lunar and solar aspect and impact our wellbeing. We will also explore the use of bandhas (locks) to regulate and direct prana (energy), various traditional kriyas, cleansing processes that can help purify the body and nadis (energy channels), and also work with mantra and yantra meditations.
